Day 12, Charleston to Hilton Head, SC

We spent two great days in Charleston. Excellent food, lots of walking around, and Gimel got some exercise, finally. The docks are crowded and expensive, so we anchored out and used the dinghy to get to shore. I put up our bimini on the tender and kept the boat tied up behind us. Here's the sunset on our first evening in Charleston.

Of course, we found the best pickleball spot and took an Uber. Play was very good, and everyone was super friendly.

After p-ball, we got back to the boat in time to watch the Ravens beat Seattle. Great game.

It felt like every time we looked up at the sky we saw something incredible.

Here's a shot that goes in the all time favorite category.

Pulling up to Empty Nest on the dinghy.

Early this morning, before we headed out to Hilton Head, and before the sun came up, Ann drove Gimel to shore for his morning poop while I got the boat ready for our journey.

And, we're off!

As we left Charleston, we saw one remaining boat at anchor. So peaceful.

It now gets dark very early. We tied up in Hilton Head and it's already dark just after 5pm.
We've decided to stay here in Hilton Head for two days because it's so nice. We found a great pickleball place and booked two spots in the round robin ladder tomorrow morning. This place, Palmetto Dunes, has 24 pickleball courts, and the session we signed up for has 96 players in it. Can't wait to see how the ladder works.

The day after tomorrow (my birthday!), we'll head to St. Isles, GA. It will be one of our longest runs, but I don't see any real alternatives in terms of good inlets. The weather should be very good, and the seas following. I expect we'll anchor there.
